In today’s volatile culture the term “goyim” has been raised across platforms to criticize the perceived elitism of Jews and parroted as a slur to non-Jews. Given the internal view of Judaism that Jews were chosen by God, as well as the (at best) mixed signals on equality that Jews have received from other religions and ideologies, within the Jewish people a positive view of others is not the most self-evident response. Professor Zvi Zohar will map and discuss a wide range of attitudes advocated by Sephardic rabbis in modern times towards others.
